More than 50 participants from all the parts of Russia joined the competition with St-Petersburg, Moscow, Severomorsk, Murmansk and Kaliningrad having the most active candidates. The jury consisted of politicians, public people, scientists, sportsmen, journalists and sailors from the four regions of Russia.
The first prize was given to the 25-year-old PhD student from MSTU Vladimir Orlychenko ( study discipline "Exploitation of Water Transport and Navigation"), as his logo got the most voices. Vladimir left the city of Kislovodsk for Murmansk in 2003 and entered MSTU Marine Academy. In 2009 he graduated from the Navigation Faculty; during his study at the University Vladimir had the marine practice at the sailing training ship "Sedov".
"Sedov" around the world voyage will be started 20 May 2012 in St-Petersburg and will be devoted to the 1150th anniversary of Russian statehood. "Sedov" is going to carry the Russian flag across the five oceans, visit the ports of the four continents and cover 42 207 nautical miles within 14 months.
