Innovation and Technology center

The center carries out its activity in two main directions:

assistance in implementing and promoting innovative ideas, projects and developments;
providing business supporting services to organizations and individuals.

Research and development department

The R and D department is MSTU subdivision which develops and transfers on behalf of the university scientific and technological products to enterprises, organizations and individuals.

Department of post graduate study and state-financed research work

The department is in charge of arranging and supervising postgraduate training for the university research and teaching staff.

Department of scientific and technical data

The department's key tasks are the following:

providing the university staff with scientific and technical data for various developments and theses subjects;
providing teachers and students with scientific magazines;
informing the university staff about research programs, grants, conferences, exhibitions and other events in Russia and abroad.

Intellectual Transport systems

On November 15th 2011 one more joint educational project named Intellectual Transport systems (ITS) with MSTU as a participant has begun. The most of EU Tempus – financed projects are known to have a rather high amount of partners. So, ITS is not an exception and represents a consortium of 12 universities from Russia, Ukraine and EU which are to collaboratively develop and bring into educational process Master’s and Doctor’s programmes in the field of transport flows optimization by using integrated high-tech telecommunications and information systems

Lecturers of the BCBU+ programme have had special training in English (January 30-February 2)

Northern Arctic Federal University held a crash course «English for academic purposes»,organized for the lecturers participating in the «Barents Cross Border University / BCBU» programme. The course was attended by representatives of the Murmansk State Humanities University, Murmansk State Technical University, Petrozavodsk State University, Karelian State Pedagogical Academy, Northern State Medical University, as well as the lecturers of the Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work Institute, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science and Theoretical and Applied Chemistry Institute of NarFU
