The international conference "SCIENCE. LEADERSHIP. SOCIETY" took place in the city of Tyumen on 26.08.2020. This conference was held by the Science and Engineering Project Managers and Lab Chiefs Competence Development Centre within West-Siberian Scientific Educational Centre.
5-day program included lectures of international and Russian experts on the main topics of W-S SEI and the way of transferring science knowledge into exact society development techniques. Furthermore, project teams of School of Scientific Leadership planned 8 mini-conferences involving speakers who represent international and Russian educational organizations.
Elena Kuznetsova, the head of MSTU Institute of Extended Professional Education, took part in one of these mini-conferences "Polaris: White Stars of Arctic" as a lead expert. She gave a report "Smart Houses in Arctic. Norway and Finland Experience." and, along with other experts, participated in discussion about research works by scientists from Tyumen State University.
Since 2018 E. Kuznetsova has been doing research into the topic "Smart Houses in Artic" within the framework of international research project "Smart North: Stable Development and Management through Direct Participation in the high North (SmartNorth)". For the last 3 years of this project scientists and experts from Russia, Norway and Finland carried out many interesting researches: Why it is necessary to develop smart cities in Arctic; what technologies are more demanded and forward-looking; how smart cities influence the quality of life and what risks include; how, with the help of participating management, it is possible to manage smart cities effectively and plan their development.
This conference became the perfect opportunity to share the results of research work, to meet scientists from different countries and Russian cities, who deal with similar researches.
As it was reported earlier, the new international research project "EduSmart" implemented with Nord University (Norway), as a lead partner, got funding from the Research Council of Norway.
MSTU will take part in this project as a partner represented by Elena Kuznetsova as an expert, who’ll continue her research work "Smart Cities in Arctic" in cooperation with researches from Norway, USA, Canada and China.
