MSTU holds Murmansk Energy Efficiency Festival
On 25-26 February 2015 MSTU holds Murmansk Energy Efficiency Festival. The festival is organized by joint efforts of MSTU, Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Narvik University College (Norway).
The festival is attended by nearly 100 participants from Russia, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.
"Such term as energy efficiency is becoming more relevant in the global, and regional agenda. An economic development is tightly linked with energy efficiency issues. MSTU is a leading university in the Murmansk region. We develop engineering education. We support any initiatives aimed at addressing energy efficiency issues. We are glad to implement an international project regarding energy efficiency with our partners from Sweden, Norway, and Finland", said MSTU rector Sergey Agarkov in the statement.
"We need to build new foundation for economy. The green revolution in economy has already begun. The green revolution begins from each single consumer in housing sector. This sector is especially important, it requires assistance from all market's actors", emphasized Norwegian General Consul in Murmansk Ole Andreas Lindeman in the statement.
According to Lindeman, Norway has significant reserves of renewable energy.
"We understand that our future should be based on alternative energy sources. The climate change issue is a global issue. By the way in December 2015 UN Climate Change Conference will be organized in Paris, where we should address this challenge", continued Ole Andreas Lindeman.
