BCBU+ Project Benchmarking Trip to Brussels
The project results were presented to a joint team of Finnish and Russian partner universities – the University of Lapland, University of Oulu and Murmansk State Technical University represented by the Head of International Cooperation Department Natalia Anikeeva and semior coordinator Ekaterina Zvonkova, who act in BCBU+ project as a coordinator and secretary respectively.
Thanks to the programme of stay thoroughly developed by Kristiina Jokelainen, the project expert of the University of Lapland, the delegation members were able to meet with a wide range of administrative officials from various administrative departments and research centres in the EU Commission. In particular, a very interesting presentation by Richard Tuffs, Director of the European Network of Support for Research and Innovation (ERRIN) should be mentioned. Richard Tuffs gave a summary of the goals and objectives of the network ERRIN and Horizon 2020 Framework Programme as one of the key instruments to support research and innovation cooperation in the period 2014-2020. In addition, taking into account the importance of exchange programs of students, young researchers and faculty members, the presentation by Przhemyslava Jankowski, Assistant Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG Regio) deserves special attention. He spoke about the opportunities and mechanisms for Marie Curie fellowship program, the program of initial training of researchers (ITN) and other instruments of academic mobility.
The information obtained needs serious analysis and comprehension. No doubt, it will be helpful and lead to further BCBU network development in the form of new projects ideas.
