Kick-off meeting for the new international project was held in Narvik, Norway
In Narvik the start is given to the new international project "Green Arctic Building" (GrAB) which got the funding from CBC Kolarctic programme 2014-2020.
The overall objective of the project is "green" and sustainable building to enhance the region's competitiveness, improve the quality of life and support social and economic activity with regard to environmental issues in the development of the Barents Region.
Project period: 2019 – 2021. The total project budget is 1,700,000 euro.

Leading partner: UiT the Arctic University of Norway
Partners: Murmansk State Technical Uiversity, Petrozavodsk State University, University of Oulu (Finland) and University of Umea (Sweden)
On February 26 – 28 partners from all 4 member countries gathered in Narvik. MSTU was presented by Svetlana Buryachenko, the head of the Department of construction, heat power engineering and transport and the project head, Zhanna Vasilieva, the head of the Department of technosphere safety, and Maria Ershova, senior officer on the international cooperation. The following representatives of the managing authority of the Kolarctic program (Finland)were also present at the meeting: Marjaana Lahdenranta, expert of operational unit, Katri Niska-Honkonen, financial manager. The Norwegian branch of the program was represented by Linda Mosand, the programme auditor.
During the 3-day visit partners discussed the general issues and the action plan for the project, set up working groups on each of project tasks. The project participants also visited a construction site and recently constructed appartrment building.
The next meeting is scheduled on April in Murmansk within the framework the IV International Scientific Conference ""ARCTIC: HISTORY AND MODERNITY"
