Young Innovative Entrepreneurs kick-off meeting
March 28 and 29 the kick-off meeting within the new YIE project (Young Innovative Entrepreneurs)was held in Tornio, Finland. The meeting was hosted by Kemi-Tornio Univetsity of Applied Sciences. YIE project is aimed at establishing the support system for developing and implementing innovative business ideas for young entrepreneurs in the Barents Region.In order to fulfil this objective, the project consists of four stages which are
– establishing Cross-Border Business and project management network in Barents region;
– developing and piloting the concept of supporting system for business innovations;
– increasing regional innovative entrepreneurial competences;
– disseminating project findings to public audience.
During the kick-off meeting the following issues were discussed:Partnership agreement, updating the project activities shedule,criteria for selecting participants,role of partners in the project.
MSTU was represented by International Cooperation Department members Nina Ershova and Elena Moiseenko. Murmansk State Technical University is the project partner; its key objective will be to look for and select the participants interested in starting a business, as well as providing a mentor ready to share with students his/her experience of doing business in our region. In practice, this means a lot of international workshops, conferences and training programmes, new peole and contacts. The project should result in the complete business idea developed in the international team led by the mentor. International Cooperation Department is going to start recruiting the particpants soon – watch our news!
