International «Development of Arctic maritime logistics and intermediate sea-land transport connections: Implementations for the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR)» project is ongoing

January 24th, 2022 online international "Development of Arctic maritime logistics and intermediate sea-land transport connections: Implementations for the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR)" project meeting brought Russian and Norwegian partners (MSTU, NArFU (Arkhangelsk), Centre for High North Logistics (CHNL) Murmansk office, NORD UNIVERSITET, TSCHUDI KIRKENES AS, AKVAPLAN NIVA AS, UTVIKLING AS SØR-VARANGER) together to go over the project timeline, scope and work packages.

The study aims at designing a more connected and efficient maritime logistics system in the Barents Euro-Arctic region, reducing possible environmental footprints of transportation activities and strengthening socio-economic development of the region.

The project will as well establish a Competence Centre on Arctic Transport & Logistics in Kirkenes (Norway) which will facilitate cooperation between the stakeholders.

"Development of Arctic maritime logistics and intermediate sea-land transport connections: Implementations for the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (BEAR)" project is implemented with the financial support of the Research Council of Norway.
