Student's life is the most fascinating and exciting time. It's time to meet new people, create new ideas, achieve new goals; students have a chance to express themselves, vary their life, find friends and get fresh impressions! There is a great variety of creative groups at the university, where you can fulfill yourself, for example, for those who like dancing, there are ballroom dances, Belly-dance, tango, salsa, mamba; if you just enjoy being on the stage or you like singing you can choose the pop-singing, the game for the most cheerful and smart (KVN) or the theatre; and for those who want to realize their potential as a leader there is the Student Council.
All our professional instructors are ready to help students achieve best results and get new impressions from participating in different concerts, competitions and festivals.

Arabic dance is one of the greatest mysteries in the world and not everyone can dance it. However, girls from the "Elikse" ensemble not only keep Arabic dance traditions but also bring their own understanding in this dance: light coquetry, an air of mystery and flaming passion.
Is there anyone who never dreamt to be on the stage as a child? Many of our students do, and there is a chance for them to try acting at the university theatre club.
Pop-singing is the best known genre of music nowadays, and our students have achieved a lot in the art of singing. If you like singing and would like to perform on stage, welcome to our Pop-singing club.
The Club of the most Cheerful and Smart, KVN (which is a popular humorous TV programme in Russsia) has a special place in the life of our university.
The first KVN team "Odnako" ("However") was established at MSTU in 2004, and now there are two univeristy KVN teams: "V Kontakte" ("In Contact") and "Svoya Versiya" ("Own Version"). None of the universitie's events is held without KVN teams. In 2005 MSTU started its own KVN Championship with teams representing each university faculty. The winners get the chance to take part in the city KVN competitions and their results are often good.
The university administration pays a lot of attention to developing students' self-rule. MSTU Student Council was created in 2004, and every year it finds and trains the most active newcomers.
The members of the University Student Council participate actively in the work of the Murmansk Municipal Student Council; they also take part in arranging all university's events. Our students win prizes and medals not only in the local, but also in the federal competitions! There are over 500 students who take part in the university's creative groups.
On November 15th 2011 one more joint educational project named Intellectual Transport systems (ITS) with MSTU as a participant has begun. The most of EU Tempus – financed projects are known to have a rather high amount of partners. So, ITS is not an exception and represents a consortium of 12 universities from Russia, Ukraine and EU which are to collaboratively develop and bring into educational process Master’s and Doctor’s programmes in the field of transport flows optimization by using integrated high-tech telecommunications and information systems
